Alumdum Balls eliminate sooting and disintegration of catalyst at the entry point. Low temperature causes nickel catalyst to soot and disintegrate due to the chilling effect of the cold air-gas mixture. Alumdum Balls will add more life to your catalyst because it acts as a buffer zone to preheat the incoming air-gas mixture. A 6 – 8” layer should be placed at the point of the incoming air-gas mixture where the heating zone starts. A small investment in Alumdum Balls will extend your catalyst life.
